Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, has commended the Federal Government's strides in the communication sector under the leadership of Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris.
Ekpang who gave the remarks during a courtesy visit to the Minister in Abuja, Wednesday, praised the Minister's dedication and achievements, describing them as impactful and inspiring, particularly for state-level information management structures.
"Your efforts to enhance the communication sector have likely contributed to improved information dissemination and public engagement and I must commend this stride, Ekpang reiterated.
The Cross River Commissioner highlighted the significance of the Ministry's collaboration with a professional body like the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for their recently held 2nd Nigeria Spokespersons Summit for efficient and effective service delivery.
He noted that the summit, which had several former Ministers of Information in attendance, served as a vital learning platform an "education clinic and crash course" geared towards strengthening government communication strategies across the country.
Dr. Ekpang appealed for collaboration with the Federal Ministry to enhance dissemination of government developmental programmes and projects to grassroots levels
In his response, Minister Of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, commended the Cross River State Government for its ongoing efforts in promoting growth and sustainability, particularly in the critical areas of agriculture and food security.
He emphasized that fostering collaboration and synergy between federal and state information channels was crucial to advancing national development.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to stronger intergovernmental partnerships in the area of public information dissemination and national reorientation.
