....preaches Mentorship, Goal Setting

The Secretary to the Government of Cross River State Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, has emphasized the importance of mentorship and goal-setting to student leaders.
The SSG gave the advice when he received the Faculty of Arts Students’ Association (FASA), University of Calabar,Secretary Generals Forum, led by Comr. Alicia Johnson, at his office in Calabar, Wednesday.
Prof. Owan-Enoh stressed that having a role model was crucial for young people, as it provides inspiration and guidance in their chosen endeavour.
He noted that many young people today prefer to grow without mentorship, and acknowledged that having a role model helps define one's actions and keeps them on track.
In his words, "In today's world, most young men don't want to be mentored. They just want to grow without a significant order but there is nothing as inspiring and educative as having a role model. That role model is the person who will define your every action and ensure you are on track."
Setting an instance of what good mentorship could be to berth and as someone who has mentored students himself, Prof. Owan-Enoh's advice carries significant weight coupled with his experience in leadership and administrative positions has likely informed his views on the importance of mentorship.
He further stressed that mentorship can have a significant impact on student growth and development, particularly in areas such as creativity and leadership and encouraged the students body to seek out role models and guidance as they navigate their academic and professional careers.
Earlier, leader delegation, Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA), University of Calabar, Comrade Alicia Johnson expressed gratitude to Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, the Secretary to the Cross River State Government, for granting them an audience despite his busy schedule.
Comrade Johnson stated that the delegation's visit aimed to familiarize themselves with the SSG's office and tap into his wealth of experience, particularly in the secretarial career line. This gesture demonstrates the students' proactive approach to learning and their desire to gain valuable insights from experienced leaders like Prof. Owan-Enoh.
