Earlier today, Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, participated in the 146th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC), alongside other state governors and key economic sector officials.
The meeting, presided over by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, took place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
One of the major resolutions reached at the meeting was the constitution of the Committee on National Electrification, with Governor Bassey Edet Otu appointed to serve as its Chairman.
The committee is expected to work towards deepening States’ engagements within the Electricity Reform Act 2023 and the National Electrification Strategy and Implementation Plan.
