The Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Rev. Mrs. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, has described Late Chief (Mrs.) Victoria Felix Nsemo, KSJI as a disciplinarian and an astute educationist, adding that her death is a monumental loss to her family, community and the State at large.
Mrs. Otu who stated this during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, urged them to preserve the legacies that their mother has built for posterity and be consoled by these legacies and everything she stood for, adding that death is the ultimate end of all mortals.
The Governor’s wife inferred that Late Chief Victoria Nsemo lived a fulfilled life, having lived beyond 70 years and blessed with children who are morally upright and brought up in a godly and disciplined family. She added that the impact she has made on those around her cannot be forgotten in a hurry.
Responding, son of the deceased and Member Representing Calabar Municipality in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Stanley Nsemo, thanked the Governor’s wife for the show of love and taking out time from her busy schedule to condole with them on the demise of their mother. He described his late mother as a great pillar of support to their father and their entire family, intoning that they are already missing her love, warmth and care.
Extending the appreciation of the Nsemo family to the Governor's Wife, the husband of the deceased, Sir Felix Nsemo extolled the uncommon virtues of his late wife, describing her as a virtuous woman, who has touched so many lives positively. He informed that his late wife was the first indigenous Principal of Federal Government Girls College, Calabar, stating that she will be missed by all.
Sir Nsemo used the opportunity to commend Governor Bassey Edet Otu for his people first agenda and the development strides across the State within the few months in office. He lauded the recent restoration of street lighting and the repair of bad roads within the metropolis, calling for more dividends of democracy to be delivered to the people.
Highpoint of the visit was the signing of the condolence register of the deceased by the Governor’s wife.
