---charges them on efficiency
The Executive Chairman of Odukpani local government area, Elder Etim Asido Ukpong, has charged newly inaugurated executive members and other appointees to remain responsive as they discharge their legitimate duties.
Ukpong gave the charge while performing the swearing in ceremony at the Odukpani council secretariat hall, recently.
According to him, the people at the grassroots which they represent, deserve nothing less than accountability, good governance and fair representation.
He enjoined the team to ensure that only optimum service rendition transforms the lives of the people while offering them a sense of belonging.
"This swearing in of new executives and other appointees at the odukpani local government area is a significant event that marks the beginning of a new era in the local government area.
"As you take the oath of office today, I implore you to serve your communities and the entire local government area with the garment of transparency and accountability while upholding the principles of good governance.
"It is therefore your duty to inject fresh ideas and prospects aimed at addressing our communities challenges without bias or sentiments," the council chairman said.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated, the council secretary, Alex Ekpenyong, applauded the chairman for the opportunity and honour done them, assuring that they would serve the people with the fear of God.
In a goodwill message, the Special Adviser to the governor on General duties, Barr Ekpenyong Akiba, congratulated the newly sworn in executives, urging them to remain resolute to the ideal of fairness, equity and inclusiveness in governance.
He encouraged the appointees to key into the people first mantra of Governor Bassey Otu, in transforming the lives of the down trodden who need governance more.
Among those who graced the occasion were the vice chairman of Council, Amb. Patricia Iya; the Leader of the 8th legislative council of odukpani local government area, Effiom Ekene; his deputy, Hon. Godwin Ndem; the Majority Leader, Bassey Duke; as well as other members of the legislative council, the APC chapter chairman of odukpani, Edem Anam, members of APC state exco, former chairmen of the Council, Director General of SEMA, Ako Eyo.

prayers offered for the efficient performance by the executives and legislative arms of the Council.
