The Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Rev. Eyoawan Otu, has facilitated the distribution of medical and laboratory equipment including consumables to primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities across the state to strengthen healthcare delivery.
Rev. Otu, represented by Dr. Inyang Asibong, the Special Adviser on Programmes, Projects, and Events, delivered the supplies, which included medical and laboratory equipment, consumables, Electrocardiograph machine, anesthesia machines, oxygen concentrator, oxygen cylinders, medical PPEs like face masks, surgical gowns, and protective eye goggles, amongst others.
University of Calabar Teaching Hospital took delivery of its allocation, weekend in Calabar, with separate deliveries to the departments of Family Medicine and Pediatrics.
Other facilities who benefitted from the Governor’s wife benevolence include, the Navy Reference Hospital, the VVF Center, the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital while the State Ministry of Health and the State Primary Health Care Development Agency are expected to make the remaining distributions to other state-owned facilities across the 18 Local Government Areas.
Speaking the donor representative disclosed that the equipment donations further underscores the administration's commitment to its people-first mandate of taking government to those that needs it most.
"We are committed to providing quality healthcare services to all Cross Riverians," said Rev Otu. "This distribution of medical equipment is just one of the many ways we are working to improve the lives of our people," Dr Asibong added.
