The Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Chief Ewa Robert Abubakar and his team have concluded a familiarization tour of tourist sites in the state, with a visit to the famous Mary Slessor Home at Akpap Okoyong, Creek Town in Odukpani Local Government Area.
According to the Tourism Commissioner, the tour is in alignment with Governor Otu's vision of repositioning the tourism sector to become one the major economic earners of the state.
Offering insights on why they visited the sites, Ewa disclosed that, the Ministry decided to embark on statewide tour of all tourists sites to appraise their current states with the view to making them accessible by tourisms.
The Tourism Boss, who decried lack of patronage of the states Tourists sites , especially the eco-tourism sited was however, enthused by the degree of information gathered during their statewide visits to tourists sites.
The commissioner further disclosed the State Government had concluded plans to upgrade the exiting natural tourists sites as a deliberate efforts to increase on it tourism offering in the coming year.
